Appraisal Policy

The Hermitage Museum staff is not qualified to evaluate or authenticate works of art. It is recommended that you consult a reputable art dealer, appraiser, or auction house. The Hermitage uses Bonhams Auctioneers in New York for appraisal needs.

The Hermitage Museum is responsible for the care of the Sloane Collection; that is, all items collected by the founder, Florence Sloane, between 1890 and 1953. As such, we do not accept donations of art or artifacts of any kind.
