Alchemy of the Old Masters

Discover an array of traditional oil painting methods and materials. Students will be instructed in the technical aspects of painting from stretching a canvas to putting on the final varnish. Topics include preparation of the grounds, creation of mediums, handling of paint, and the use of tools and materials. Through self portraiture and still life painting students will be engaged with their newly learned techniques in hands-on projects. Leave the course with the ability to express your artistic visions and further develop your creative potential.

Exploring Still Life

The intention of this class is to explore various genres of the last century in Still Life painting from Realism to Abstract. We will gain inspiration from the Masters, while learning the fundamentals of composition, shape and line in developing a still life painting.

Designed for beginners, this class presents a survey of abstract art. Using traditional techniques as well as innovative, non-traditional techniques, students will learn a variety of painting methods to create abstract works while referencing famous examples.

The Art of Feng Shui

Through artistic processes students will express basic components of Feng Shui. Learn three ancient Chinese energy systems that are present in your home and understand intuitively and analytically how they affect your life. Understand the impact of clutter of all kinds. Have an opportunity to express yourself in metaphoric artwork and connect the energy of your body to the energy of your home.

Glass Fusion and Jewelry Design

Thursdays, 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Students will be introduced to all the materials needed to make fused glass jewelry and will create unique masterpieces to wear proudly! This multi-phase project will walk you through the design, preparation, and creation of your own fused glass jewelry. Materials fee includes all glass materials for the class. Students may choose to purchase additional jewelry accents if desired.
