Mission:
The Hermitage Museum and Gardens preserves the distinct beauty of its natural environment; conserves and shares its multi-cultural collection; promotes and educates to inspire an appreciation for art and nature; and cultivates a spirit of stewardship while paying tribute to its rich legacy.
The Hermitage Museum & Gardens, formerly home to the Sloane family, is an early 20th century Arts-and-Crafts estate located on the shore of the Lafayette River in Norfolk, Virginia. Featuring a nationally recognized art collection spanning 5,000 years, the Hermitage is home to the arts. Contemporary exhibition galleries, a Visual Arts Studio, working artist studios, and 12 acres of gardens and grounds offer art and culture to the community, as envisioned by the Sloanes.

Admission includes access to Current Gallery Exhibitions.
No photographs may be taken inside the Museum.

Photography Policies Overview
The Hermitage Gardens and Grounds are a wonderful place to have your wedding, bridal, graduation and family photographs taken. In order to accommodate everyone and provide the best experience possible, all photography sessions require a reservation and must be scheduled through the Weddings & Events Coordinator at 757.423.2052 x211. Based on availability, photography sessions on the grounds are permitted during business hours for a fee of $50 per hour and after hours for $150 per hour.
